UX Strategy

In my experience, I've found that you need to practice the following tenets to create an experience with value: having a user-centric mindset, conducting preliminary research, aligning the product vision with business goals, designing in a scalable and flexible manner, and determining success metrics.

Product Discovery

The beginning phases of a product can be scary and exciting. So much ambiguity, so much to uncover. Designers often think in granular terms, down to a fine detail and with pixel perfect solutions; but asking the larger, abstract, outside-the-box questions will help frame the actual problem we're trying to solve.

Design Systems

Talk about the perfect time to unleash your most detailed talents and perspectives. I love making design systems because it feels like this is where the rubber meets the road. I'm a big fan of Brad Frost's Atomic Design principles, and have made design systems to reflect them.

UI Design

Be clear. Be simple. Be intuitive -- and give the pattern a lil' personality.
Good UX is an art and a science. A product designer can do either of those well, or guess at both; but a great designer knows the right questions to ask in order to marry the two. I like to think I'm good at asking thoughtful product questions and turning the answers into designs.

I'm currently seeking a product design strategy or management role to lead teams and drive projects. Give me a product idea and watch me give it a heartbeat.
